Frequently Asked Questions
Maps
- Why do the road closure icons appear to be right on the course route itself?
-
Due to the zoom level of the map the various icons on the map are appearing closer to one another. The more you zoom out, the less detail is shown on the map. Try zooming in to view the map information in greater detail.
- Why do road closures sometimes appear to be not centered with the roadway?
-
Due to the way Google Maps works, objects on the map appear to be shifted based on the zoom level that you are currently using. We made our best efforts to enter in the data in the appropriate locations.
- Why don’t the road closures appear right next to the intersection when I zoom in all the way?
-
The road closures on the map were entered in such a fashion that the closure icons will appear on the appropriate leg of the intersection that is closed when the map is viewed from a “farther” zoom level.
Mobile
- What phones will I be able to view your data from?
-
Any mobile phone that supports the Google Maps Layers will be able to view our data. Although the iPhone doesn’t currently support Layers in its Google Maps application, we will try our best to have our map configured for the iPhone browser. Please do not view our data from your mobile phone while driving or operating a vehicle. If you are operating a vehicle, please pull over first before trying to access our map data. Remember to watch the road.
